After weeks of research and many hours of consultation with fellow creative professionals we have designed, built and tested an action that runs a mixture or real world operations. This enables you to test your systems efficiency against other machines, which allows you to optimize your machine for the fastest Photoshop results. It is also a helpful tool for creative professionals looking to upgrade their systems, letting them compare Photoshop speeds with possible system purchases. This test is fast becoming a standard in quality for real world speed testing, it is to be used by Apple computers, Poland, to bench test their upcoming hardware against previous generation machines. It’s also been used by one of the internets largest Mac benchmarking websites, and is going to be featured in well known author – Martin Evening’s upcoming CS3 revision of his superb ‘Adobe Photoshop CS2 for Photographers’ book. Results

To view the results tables for your system, please click the corresponding name below. The results give a good indication of how the top machines perform in Photoshop. They also allow you to test your machine against the fastest set-ups, so that you can tell how much of a speed boost you get from upgrading. Please note: New Macintosh systems with intel chips are running photoshop under a rosetta emulation layer and don’t represent the native speed of the upcoming CS3 (UPDATE – CS3 RESULTS ADDED!).
